A kitchen floor has to survive hot oil, steam cleaning, dropped pans and a hose at 4am. We lay a heavy-duty non-slip epoxy or urethane system and — the part that matters most — form a sand-filled cove where the floor curves up into the wall.
That curved cove is what makes the floor hygienic. There is no square junction for grease and water to sit in, nowhere for a mop to miss, and nothing for an auditor to write up. We take the cove up 100 to 150 mm and terminate it under the wall sheet or against a stainless capping.

Coving is a curved fillet of sand-filled resin where the floor sweeps up into the wall instead of meeting it at a square corner. In any food handling area you want it — it removes the crevice that grease and water collect in and it is the first thing an auditor looks for.
