Pool Surrounds done properly
Pool surrounds take the worst of it — chlorine, salt, UV, bare feet and constant wetting. We resurface the whole area in a light-toned spray-crete with a fine broadcast texture, carried neatly up to the coping and around the edges of the shell.
Light colours matter here: a pale sandstone or beige stays noticeably cooler underfoot than dark concrete in February. The finish is rated for wet-area slip resistance and it will not lift the way pavers do when the ground moves.

Common questions
Will it stay cool enough to walk on?
In a light colour, yes — that is why we steer people away from charcoal around a pool. A pale sandstone or beige is dramatically cooler underfoot than dark concrete in summer.
Does chlorine or salt damage it?
No. The sealer we use around pools is specified for chlorinated and salt water. What does damage a surround is acid washing, so keep acids off it.
Can you do the coping as well?
Yes, we detail the coping and step edges by hand so the finish terminates cleanly rather than stopping in a straight line across the paving.
