Epoxy Flooring Cost in Sydney: 2026 Price Guide

Pricing · 29 Sep 2026

The honest answer to "how much does epoxy flooring cost?" is: it depends on the floor you have now, not just the one you want. But you should still be able to get a ballpark before anyone comes out. Here are our starting prices, and what moves a job above them.

Starting prices per square metre

Browse our flake and spray-crete colour options to see what finishes are available.

A "from" price is for a sound slab with normal preparation. As a rough example, a standard double garage of about 36 m² starts from around $2,700. Your written quote after the site visit is the price you pay.

What pushes the price up

The state of the concrete. Cracks, spalling, old paint, oil stains and previous coatings all have to be ground off or repaired first. This is the biggest variable, and the part cheap quotes most often leave out.

Moisture in the slab. Concrete that holds moisture can push a coating off from underneath. Floors on the ground with no vapour barrier sometimes need a moisture-tolerant primer.

Size. Setting up the grinder, dust extraction and mixing costs the same for 15 m² as for 50 m², so small areas cost more per square metre.

The system. A full flake broadcast with a clear topcoat takes more material and time than a solid-colour coat. Kitchens and hot areas need heavier, heat-rated systems.

Access and timing. Stairs, tight access, after-hours work or working around a business that can't close will all add time.

Why the cheapest quote is often the dearest

Most epoxy floor failures come down to preparation, not the product. A coating rolled onto unground, dusty or damp concrete will peel, often within months, especially under hot tyres. When you compare quotes, ask each one:

  • Will you diamond-grind the floor, or just acid-etch or clean it?
  • How will you repair cracks and joints?
  • How many coats go down, and what is the topcoat?
  • Is dust extraction used during grinding?
  • What is included in the price, and what counts as an extra?

DIY kit versus a professional floor

A hardware-store kit costs a few hundred dollars and suits a light-use shed. The difference with a professional floor is mostly the grinding, the thickness of the coats and the topcoat. Kits are usually thin, water-based products applied over etched concrete, so they tend to lift where car tyres sit.
